Recursive picture-in-picture photography

An adult man sits at a wooden desk holding up a framed photograph that shows the same man at the same desk holding the same framed photograph, repeating smaller and smaller. No letters, words, signs or logos anywhere in the image. A real photograph built as a recursive picture-in-picture, digital capture with a standard 50mm perspective, moderate depth of field and clean fine grain repeated identically at every scale as each bounded inset holds a smaller complete copy of the whole composition. One soft frontal key gives even, low-contrast shading that recurs unchanged at every level of the recursion, shadows falling gently and consistently inward as the copies diminish. The finish is neutral, true-to-life colour with steady contrast from the largest frame to the smallest inset.
